The Land and Space
Making Space is the family home Mark and Suzanne designed and built. Suzanne did the plumbing and Mark did the electrical, and we raised our sons within these walls. Every room carries decades of intention, partnership, creativity, and life.

This is not a staged venue. It is a lived-in, thoughtfully crafted space that understands transition, because it has held many seasons of it. Now, it opens to women navigating their own thresholds.
Embraced by the land, built by hand
Making Space sits on 18 private acres in Chattaroy, surrounded by pines and open sky, with no visible neighbors and uninterrupted quiet.
From the property, the view of Mount Kit Carson rises beyond the horizon — its presence quietly eclipsing nearby Mount Spokane. The land holds both expanse and intimacy: ancient apple trees, a small vineyard, and a trail that leads to a bluff overlook where perspective returns naturally.
This home was designed and built by our hands — and we raised our sons here. Every structure was created with intention, care, and long-term vision.
Now, it opens to hold new seasons of transformation.

The Home
The retreat home is designed for both privacy and gathering.
Six guest rooms across three floors, with a full bathroom on each level, allow for flexibility and comfort. Rooms may be arranged as:
-
Private queen accommodations
-
Shared king rooms for women attending together or interested in sharing
Each floor offers space for quiet reflection, ensuring guests can step away when needed.
A separate Retreat Leader Suite, complete with an en suite bathroom and intentionally positioned away from guest rooms, provides privacy and restoration for facilitators.
The heart of the home includes:
-
A fully equipped kitchen
-
A dining space designed for communal meals
-
A spacious gathering room for conversation, reflection, and evening integration
The energy is warm and grounded — not staged or performative.
